Introduction1) Mein Name ist ... (My name is ...)
Saying who you are, greeting people and saying goodbye, asking people where they come from and where they live. Language points: I and you, word order.
2) Mir geht's gut (I'm fine)Asking people how they are, saying how you are, saying which cities and countries people come from. Language points: verb endings.
3) Wie schreibt man das? (How do you write that?)Counting from 0-100, spelling out names and words, talking about us and them. Language points: yes-no questions, plurals.
4) Sprechen Sie Deutsch (Do you Speak German?)Saying what languages you speak and asking others what they speak, saying whether you are working or studying, saying what nationality you are. Language points: the various forms of you.
5) In der Stadt (In town)Talking about places in towns and cities, couting from 101 upwards. Language points: gender and articles.
6) Arbeit und Studium (Work and study)Asking people about their occupation and stating yours, asking people what they are studying and where. Language points: the verb sein (to be) and the plural forms os nouns.
7) Essen und Trinken (Food and drink)Asking the way and ordering food and drink. Language points: the accusative case, containers and their contents.
8) Einkaufen und Bestellen (Shopping and ordering)Talking about going shopping, asking for and giving prices, ordering food and drink in a restaurant, saying what you like eating and drinking. Language points: more plural forms of nouns, the accusative plural and word orders.
9) Freizeit (Leisure)Saying what people are doing, talking about leisure pursuits and stating likes and dislikes. Language points: irregular verb forms using gern.
10) Die Uhrzeit (The time)Telling the time and talking about daily routine. Language points: separable verbs and more on word order.
11) Was machen wir heute? (What are we doing today?)Talking about what there is to do in a given town, making appointments, saying what you would like to do, and saying why you can't do things on the date suggested. Language points: modal verbs können and müssen, use of in for focusing on position.
